What you will find in Adventures On A Couch

Until this issue, Adventures On A Couch was a section of my StageFair web site which also contained a “Live! On Stage!” section.  Because of logistical problems, which include a lack of transportation that inhibits my attendance at the live performances I had expected to review, I have decided to concentrate on entertainment you can enjoy from the comfort of your home.  Specifically, movies -- old and new -- available on DVDs, audio recordings available on CDs and over broadcast radio and the Internet, and books and stories available in print or on the Internet.  These comments will be found in the following sections:

Section One

THE MOVIES

Some old, some new, recently viewed by me, and considered worth your time to watch them.   All of them are usually available from your favorite video store or by mail from a on line service (or even from your public library.)  If I list a film here, I thought it of at least average entertainment value.  If I watch a film that was less than that, I simply forget it and talk about one that I thought worth the money to buy, rent or actually go see in a theater. Sometimes, I will comment on current TV programs or specials.  If you see a film, either at home or at a theater, that you would like to comment on, pro or con as long as it’s civil,  please email me about it and I will publish your review of it, with your byline and a link to your web site or blog.  (At this time, I can not afford to otherwise pay for reviews.)  Put “Movie Review” in the subject line of your email and send it to:

twamacker@gmail.com

Section Two

AUDIO RECORDINGS

This section will comment on music, comedy, and dramatic audio record-ings available on CDs or on Internet/cable radio stations, and sometimes podcasts.  Again, I talk about what I liked, not those I didn’t.  Also, again, you are invited to share your opinions, pro or con, of any audio recordings you have listened to.  Your comments will be published, on a space available basis,  under your byline and with your web site or blog link.  Put “Audio Recording Review” in the subject block of your email and send it to me at the email address above.  If you are a musician or other performer or a record producer and have a CD or other recording coming out, send me the details about it and I will run the information in this section without charge and with the appropriate  links.  I will also indicate whether or not I have actually heard it myself.

Section Three

BOOKS & STORIES

In this section, I will comment on the books and stories I have recently read, some new, some old. Many of them will be mysteries or action/adventure yarns, but I read numerous biographies, historical novels and some non-fiction material as well so you might discover a recommendation to almost anything. In addition to the material in print form, I also surf around the Internet looking for novels and short stories available there.  Share your opinion of the books and stories you’ve read.  And, if you are a writer, editor, or publisher of a book or story that is scheduled for release, send me the information and I will promote it here without charge, as space permits, with the appropriate links.  (I may or may not run my personal review of it.)  Be sure to identify what you wish to talk about in the subject block of your email.  If you have any art work (jacket cover, author photo, etc.) please attach it to your email.

Section Four

AFFILIATE DISPLAYS & LINKS

What could be more of an Adventure On A Couch than running a small business from home?  In this section you will find articles that will help you plan and operate your Internet business. Here, also, you will find displays and links to a number of products, programs and services that you may need or want and with which I am affiliated.  If you purchase an item or subscription from the links you find here, I will earn a commission.  This will make my creditors very happy, almost as happy as me!  If you are involved with any product, program, or service you believe to be honest, effective, and profitable, and that has an affiliate program I can join, let me know about it.  After looking it over, if I like it, I will join it in your downline and include linked banners or splash pages to it in this section.  Keep in mind that I can only join a program once so that will have to be from the first lead to it provided to me.  Also, I am already affiliated with those products, programs, and services whose displays appear in this issue, so please don’t send me links to them.  Put “Possible Affiliate Program For You” in the subject block of your email to me, and provide me with the proper links to learn more about it.

THANKS FOR VISITING!

I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU.

By the way, a new issue of ADVENTURES ON A COUCH will be published every other Wednesday, so the next issue will be June 30, 2010.  So visit again soon and let’s share the adventures.  (If you are interested in live stage performance, I recommend that you visit www.artsdig.com to get a handle on what’s playing in various theatres around the country.)
